Unfortunately the logs only show:

Setting up squid (2.7.STABLE7-1ubuntu12.4) ...
restart: Job failed to restart
dpkg: error processing squid (--configure):
 subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

Please could you examine the file /var/log/squid/cache.log and post the
part of the file corresponding to the time that you tried to
install/upgrade. Be sure to check and remove any private information
from the file before posting it. Then set the Status of this bug back to
New so that it does not expire.
