Public bug reported:

HP xw6400 Workstation. Using Gnome-shell (I wonder if this matters) with
Ubuntu 11.10 (64 bits).

When I suspend the machine, and resume, then fan speed seems to be at
100% for ever, until you reboot the machine.

When you hibernate, and start ubuntu again, then fan is under control
(after a few seconds of 100% speed, it comes back to a under-control
way: no noise, etc.).
