** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: qemu-kvm

  Hi.

  The qemu-kvm version in lucid doesn't respond to system_powerdown.

  My guess is that its related to the bug reported in:
  http://www.mail-archive.com/kvm@vger.kernel.org/msg42872.html
+
+ SRU Justification:
+ 1. Impact: cannot system_shutdown freebsd
+ 2. How bug was addressed: A commit from the upstream git tree was cherrypicked. Three earlier patches were pulled as well so that the patch would easily apply.
+ 3. Patch: see debdiff attached
+ 4. TEST CASE: try system_shutdown in freebsd guest under kvm on a lucid host.
+ 5. Regression potential: these patches are pulled from upstream git and are present in natty, so they should be safe. However, since they were cherrypicked, it is possible that interactions due to other patches not being applied could cause a problem, so normal workloads very much need to be tested.

** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu Lucid)
   Importance: Undecided => Medium

** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu Maverick)
   Importance: Undecided => Medium
