Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: openvpn
Trying to connect to my VPN gateway I always get the following errors:
Thu May 12 12:04:42 2011 VERIFY ERROR: depth=1, error=invalid CA certificate: /C=DE/ST=Baden-Wuerttemberg/O=MY_PRIVATE_CA/OU=VPN/CN=hostname/emailAddress=MY_EMAIL
Thu May 12 12:04:42 2011 TLS_ERROR: BIO read tls_read_plaintext error: error:14090086:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_SERVER_CERTIFICATE:certificate verify failed
Thu May 12 12:04:42 2011 TLS Error: TLS object -> incoming plaintext read error
Thu May 12 12:04:42 2011 TLS Error: TLS handshake failed
Worked a long time with this config and I didn't changed it. "openssl
verify ..." also says that the cert is valid so I think this may be a
bug in the openvpn package.
My System:
OpenVPN: 2.1.0-3ubuntu1
Ubuntu 10.10 with all updates
** Affects: openvpn (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
** Tags: certificate openssl openvpn verification
