To work around it I am using daemontools http://cr.yp.to/daemontools.html so when it crashes it just spawns right back up. I have noticed that once it wasnt working but was still running so I also added to my crontab @daily svc -d /service/winbind;svc -u /service/winbind and since doing that I have had not had to log in and manually do anything to fix it.. sucky work around but its all I have found
