In Ubuntu 11.04 the current default PHP binary in the repository does not handle soap web services anymore. 

PHP Version: (php --version)
------------
PHP 5.3.5-1ubuntu7.2 with Suhosin-Patch (cli) (built: May  2 2011 23:00:17) 

Test script:
---------------
$service = new SoapClient($wsdl_url);


Expected result:
----------------
a correctly functioning SoapClient object

Actual result:
--------------
Exception: Error Fetching http headers

** Affects: php5 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
