Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.

bind9 refused to start because /etc/resolv.conf is not a symbolic link.

Please move it out of the way by doing:
   mv /etc/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf.bak
   ln -s /etc/resolv.conf.bak /etc/resolv.conf

then try to re-start bind9.  Please do let us know whether that
succeeded.
