Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better.
To clarify, the packages from ppas do get installed, but the key is not
available for apt-get updates after installation.
Marking this confirmed (as I've just tried it), and low priority since
packages do get installed and the resulting system is otherwise fine.
