Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: qemu-kvm

Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64
KVM Host: 2.6.32-25-generic-tp #45~tp13-Ubuntu SMP Fri Oct 22 06:33:15 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux
KVM Guest: 2.6.32-24-server #39-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jul 28 06:21:40 UTC 2010 x86_64 GNU/Linux

qemu-kvm:
  Installiert: 0.12.3+noroms-0ubuntu9.3

when hotpluging a disk into a running vm, network connection in the guest dies. this should not happen?! ;)

Can be reproduced like this:

guest:
modprobe acpiphp

host:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/root/foo bs=1M count=100

connect into qemu monitor, then:
pci_add auto storage file=/root/test.img,if=virtio

after a reboot, i got this from the logs:

Tried this on my notebook (core i5) as well as on an intel xeon (six-core) server with same results.
