Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: munin

When using snmp plugins, the plugin is not listed when telneting into
port 4949 and running a list. If you remove the hostname from the
symlink so the name is 'snmp__if_multi' for example it will be listed
but obviously not work.

Leaving the symlink named as 'snmp__if_multi' and setting an environment
variable in plugin-conf.d/munin-node has the same effect as naming the
symlink as 'snmp_hostname_if_multi'.

Running the command from the command line always works.

I'm using munin 1.4.4-1ubuntu1 on lucid.

** Affects: munin (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
