While upgrading my server from 9.10 to 10.04, I've hit this error:

Installiere neue Version der Konfigurationsdatei /etc/cron.daily/amavisd-new ...
Creating/updating amavis user account...
mkdir: kann Verzeichnis „/var/lib/amavis/virusmails“ nicht anlegen: File exists
dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten von amavisd-new (--configure):
 Unterprozess installiertes post-installation-Skript gab den Fehlerwert 1 zurück

Translation of the German messages (by myself):
Install new version of the config file etc/cron.daily/amavisd-new ...
Creating/updating amavis user account...
mkdir: can't create „/var/lib/amavis/virusmails“: File exists
dpkg: Error while computing amavisd-new (--configure):
 Subprocess installed post installation script return the error value 1 (The German message is also a little strange)

I took a workaround by deleting the virusmails dir, but the script
should expect, that this directory already exists.
