Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: minicom

Not sure if this is a minicom or driver issue. I use this usb-to-serial
converter and minicom for consoling into cisco devices. Not sure when
this problem started as I haven't used it to do a break sequence for a
while. Now I am using this function a lot more in my job and would like
it to work again. I know for a fact i have used this same converter to
do a break sequence before on jaunty.

I have tried using a brand new cisco serial to rj45 cable so it's not
that.

I am using the Ctrl+A F key sequence to send the break in minicom. I
have also tried using the screen method to console and send break but
this does not work either.

Here is more info on the device:

lsusb:
Bus 004 Device 006: ID 1a86:7523 Unknown HL-340 USB-Serial adapter

dmesg:

[12706.690156] usb 4-1: new full speed USB device using uhci_hcd and address 6

[12706.885446] usb 4-1: ch341-uart converter now attached to ttyUSB0

When I borrow a colleagues usb-to-serial converter I am able to perform
the break sequence, which is what makes me think this might not be a
minicom issue. If so please advise as to which app or driver this
problem must be linked to?

Details or other converter cable:

[13460.473445] usb 4-1: pl2303 converter now attached to ttyUSB0

Please let me know if there are specific logs which i can provide to
assist with this problem. Not sure how to proceed and what would be
required.
