In my install of lucid x86_64 /dev/cgroup doesn't exist by default.  I
followed this reference::

    http://www.mail-archive.com/libvir-list@redhat.com/msg15612.html

And did::

   mkdir /dev/cgroup

   # then tested with this
   mount -t cgroup none /dev/cgroup -o cpu,memory,devices

before entering things in my /etc/fstab
