I'm marking this wishlist and 'incomplete'.  As I understand the
request, you're hoping for new function in the backupppc project.
Ubuntu isn't likely to add such function on its own.

Please bring up this feature request with the upstream.  It seems you
should be able to do so via the mailing lists described at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/backuppc/support .  It seems the -users
mailing list at https://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_name
=backuppc-users is fairly active.
