I don't understand those lines:

14:  for POSTINST in /usr/lib/dkms/common.postinst
/usr/share/$PACKAGE_NAME/postinst

Is the package supposed to have a /usr/share/$PACKAGE_NAME/postinst ?

16:      $POSTINST $NAME $CVERSION /usr/share/$PACKAGE_NAME $ARCH $2

What is /usr/share/$PACKAGE_NAME for ? Is that package supposed to have 
that dir ?
