  newaliases: warning: valid_hostname: misplaced delimiter: ubuntulaptop.hsd1.in.comcast.net.
  newaliases: fatal: file /etc/postfix/main.cf: parameter myhostname: bad parameter value: ubuntulaptop.hsd1.in.comcast.net.

In other words, this isn't a bug but postfix reacting to a "faulty"
filename. There shouldn't be a dot at the end.

You might want to check your /etc/hosts and/or /etc/hostname. You
probably also want to make sure the faulty name hasn't ended up in
/etc/postfix/main.cf.
