Thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

The logs show that bind9 failed to restart because /etc/resolv.conf was
not a symlink.  I'm curious as to where it came from.  Unless you created
it by hand, could you give the output of

dpkg -S /etc/resolv.conf
?

Then move it out of the way and re-start bind using

     mv /etc/resolv.conf /etc/resolv.conf.orig
     /etc/init.d/bind9 restart
