Thanks for reporting this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.  The
dpkg log file suggests that clamav-milter was unexpectedly running during
the update.  Can you try:

  sudo stop clamav-milter
  sudo dpkg --configure -a

and let us know whether that succeeds?
