Thanks for reporting this package and helping to make ubuntu better.

I suspect that the graphics got messed up because some things depending
on each other upgraded and others did not.  To get passed the mysql
upgrade failure, please do

	apt-get purge mysql
	apt-get remove mysql

and then continue the upgrade:
        apt-get upgrade

If you have data/config files to back up, please back them up by hand
first before the purge, but assuming they are all automatically installed
by other applications (i.e. you didn't create any tables yourself) then
just purging should be safe.
