[Bug 459456] [NEW] Problems on installing mysql5 from Synaptics

Public bug reported:

I tried to install XAMPP manually, it wouldn't work so I removed it.

I then installed php5-mysql, php5-gd, mysql-client and mysql-server from
the synaptic package manager.

When complete I got an error message saying the installation was
incomplete or had failed.

I have saved the daemon log file for you as I noticed you ask for it.
