Works correctly here:

mathiaz at mathiaz:~$ host -t ns google.fr. ns1.primus.ca.
Using domain server:
Name: ns1.primus.ca.
Address: 216.254.141.2#53
Aliases:

google.fr name server ns4.google.com.
google.fr name server ns1.google.com.
google.fr name server ns3.google.com.
google.fr name server ns2.google.com.
mathiaz at mathiaz:~$ host -t ns google.fr. ns2.primus.ca.
Using domain server:
Name: ns2.primus.ca.
Address: 209.90.160.222#53
Aliases:

google.fr name server ns2.google.com.
google.fr name server ns3.google.com.
google.fr name server ns4.google.com.
google.fr name server ns1.google.com.
mathiaz at mathiaz:~$

This is one karmic 64bits though.
