You have been subscribed to a public bug:
My local ISP server in Seoul (SKbroadand 100Mbps LAN) does not give an
IP adress with the Ubuntu 9.10 default DHCP setting. Windows XP works
fine but Ubuntu 9.10 (9.04 also in fact) doesn't work. It gets DHCPOFFER
timed out.
To make it work, I have to edit the /etc/dhcp3/dhclient.conf to incldue
the following line manually,
send dhcp-client-identifier 00:03:d3:13:16:fe;
It would be great that the dhclient automagically sent my MAC address.
I remember in the old days, I didn't need to edit a configuration file
to add my MAC address. DHCP just worked. When dhclient came, something
went wrong, I guess.
