I've got a debdiff that i'd like to propose as a solution to this, but I
would like to get some wider testing and feedback with it before
uploading it to -proposed.

It's attached, and I have a test build on my PPA (version
5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10.1~ppa1) at
