Strange

>From what I can see my Intrepid system has 3.0.2-1ubuntu1.1 as its
current Nagios3 version. That version depends on libperl5.10 (>= 5.10.0)
and installs just fine.

Please return the output from the command
  apt-cache policy nagios3
