Read-only file system
That sounds like a problem with the file system on your local machine
rather than a problem with the package. Is /usr really read-only? If it
is read-only by policy, you will need to mount it read-write before
upgrading packages. If it is read-only due to file system errors, you
should investigate possible hardware failure on your system.
If it's not read-only, then something even more weird is going on, but
probably at the dpkg layer rather than at the level of the krb5 package.
