Testcase that works to reproduce the error. This is not nautilus
related. To check this yourself try this:

Create or copy files to test the transfer with. 
Rename them to contain special characters. Especially files should contain the : 
Move / Copy them via mv cp or nautilus. 
Filenames containing : will get truncated there and those files will be empty on the target share.
