I had the same issue. I'm pretty sure it's only due to bacula-mysql-
director expecting mysql to be running. At the time it tried to connect
during the install process(Bacula intalled mysql as a dependancy, i had
not already had it installed on that machine), the mysql server was not
functional. The following are the packages that were installed from
using 'aptitude install bacula':
The following NEW packages will be installed:
bacula bacula-client{a} bacula-common{a} bacula-console{a}
bacula-director-common{a} bacula-director-mysql{a} bacula-fd{a}
bacula-sd{a} bacula-sd-mysql{a} bacula-server{a} bsd-mailx{a}
dbconfig-common{a} libdbd-mysql-perl{a} libdbi-perl{a}
libhtml-template-perl{a} libmysqlclient15off{a} libnet-daemon-perl{a}
libplrpc-perl{a} mailx{a} mtx{a} mysql-client{a} mysql-client-5.0{a}
mysql-common{a} mysql-server{a} mysql-server-5.0{a}
mysql-server-core-5.0{a} postfix{a}
0 packages upgraded, 27 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
Bet anything if I had installed mysql first manually, THEN tried to
install bacula I wouldn't have even noticed this problem.
