Hello,
on Ubuntu 8.10 the nmbd of the package
samba 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.4 uses the wrong ip adress to send the his response...
How to repoduce:
samba is configured as pdc
server have 2 ips:
10.0.1.2/24 eth0
10.0.1.3/24 eth0:1
samba.conf says:
interfaces = 10.0.1.3, 127.0.0.1
bind interfaces only = Yes
setup a windows xp
windos xp is 10.0.2.100/24
to join the domain.
windows does the netbios name query to 10.0.1.3
the samba response with his rigth ip 10.0.1.3
windows send sam logon request from client to 10.0.1.3
samba response with his wrong ip 10.0.1.2.
windos xp firewall says: oops, wrong ip...
