[Bug 322840] [NEW] upgrade to slapd failed

Public bug reported:
Ubuntu 8.10 update today of slapd failed with -1 error reported from the
update utility.
This feature was bundled with 27 update released 2008/01/28 18:00 UTC -
probably released within the last 2 hours
I expected this to upgrade smoothly as usual but failed.
I reran using apt-get:
