** Attachment added: "dmesg"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29886156/dmesg

** Attachment added: "lspci"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29886158/lspci

** Description changed:

After updating to 2.6.31-5-generic, the wireless adapter fails to
connect. Network manager associates with the network correctly, but
fails to receive an ip address. Investigating from the terminal, I can
manually assign a network address and then connect to the network, but
running "sudo dhclient wlan0" fails with an error:

Open a socket for LPF: Operation not permitted.
+
+ disabling apparmor via "sudo /etc/init.d/apparmor stop" makes things
+ work properly again.

** Also affects: apparmor (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
       Status: New
