Could other people experiencing this bug tell what type of network share
they are trying to access (Samba server, network drive, NAS box brand,
Windows Server, etc.) and if setting
/proc/fs/cifs/LinuxExtensionsEnabled to 0 also solves the issue for them
?
Unfortunately, at the moment it appears that the /proc setting is the
only way to request *not* to negociate the Unix extensions. It would be
easier if we could specify it as a per-mount option.
Steve French talked about this option in the past, but apparently it never made it to CIFS:
