No, not that I can see. Nothing in dmesg, nothing in /var/log/syslog and
nothing in /var/log/messages, and nothing in /var/log/samba/*.

[0 zerodogg at firefly ~]$ sudo egrep -i '(cifs|smb|samba)' /var/log/dmesg /var/log/messages /var/log/syslog|grep -v 'Modules linked in'
[1 zerodogg at firefly ~]$ 

Is there any way to make it more verbose so that it might log something
useful?
