[Bug 302075] Re: Samba crashes when mounting a password protected share

Migzu migzuli at gmail.com
Tue Nov 25 16:25:52 GMT 2008

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: samba

I've got this samba-mount, which is named after my username "migzu".
That share contains my home folder( /home/migzu )

Samba crashes when i try to mount that share and mails me this stuff:

The Samba 'panic action' script, /usr/share/samba/panic-action,
was called for PID 29759 (/usr/sbin/smbd).

This means there was a problem with the program, such as a segfault.
Below is a backtrace for this process generated with gdb, which shows
the state of the program at the time the error occurred. The Samba log
files may contain additional information about the problem.

If the problem persists, you are encouraged to first install the
samba-dbg package, which contains the debugging symbols for the Samba
binaries. Then submit the provided information as a bug report to
  Ubuntu by visiting this link:
  https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+filebug

This crash started happening after the upgrade to interpid. There were
no problems with this before upgrading to interpid.

  Here's my smb.conf

  #
  # Sample configuration file for the Samba suite for Debian GNU/Linux.
  #
  #
  # This is the main Samba configuration file. You should read the
  # smb.conf(5) manual page in order to understand the options listed
  # here. Samba has a huge number of configurable options most of which
  # are not shown in this example
  #
  # Any line which starts with a ; (semi-colon) or a # (hash)
  # is a comment and is ignored. In this example we will use a #
  # for commentary and a ; for parts of the config file that you
  # may wish to enable
  #
  # NOTE: Whenever you modify this file you should run the command
  # "testparm" to check that you have not made any basic syntactic
  # errors.
