Well, thanks to watching Daniel Holbach's Youtube "how to patch" video,
I have made a debdiff patch file of what I think is the fix here.

Basically, udev_124-1 removed "/sbin/udevtrigger" used by nut's postinst
script. We need to use "/sbin/udevadm trigger" now.

-  /sbin/udevtrigger --subsystem-match=usb_device
+ /sbin/udevadm trigger --subsystem-match=usb_device

This is the first ever time I have done any Debian/Ubuntu patching. It
will need close inspection.
