OK Try this.
edit your /etc/hosts file
insert your share host name and IP address
I inserted
192.168.1.2 STORAGE
now I can browse the shares on STORAGE computer.
Interesting ????

PS I unsintalled samba, windbind and nautilus
then I installed Samba
then I installed Nautilus
apt-get remove windbin reported no package found.
