With Bug #246735, fixed, I'm attaching a set of patches that adds a status action, and a dependency on lsb-base (>= 3.2-12ubuntu2) for:
 * at
 * bind9
 * cron
 * dovecot
 * openssh
 * samba
 * sysklogd
