I know this was a long time ago but just in case anyone else is running
into it.

The apache2ctl command doesn't seem to be picking up the library path.
Upgrading etc didn't improve the situation (I'm at 8.04).

I got around this by adding an 'export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib' into
this command script.  Works fine now.

There must be something specific in my set-up that's causing the
problem, because this is a real killer for, yet no one else seems to
have come across it.  Also, I noticed that if I had only one site
enabled the problem would go away.
