Please re-open this bug.

I downloaded 2.2.1-2.1ubuntu5 from here:
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/13167950/nut_2.2.1-2.1ubuntu5_amd64.deb

Installed it and ran the daemon and the problem is still present.
2.2.0-2build1 is still the latest driver that is working
