libvpx vulnerability
==========================================================================

A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 25.10
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 22.04 LTS

Summary:

libvpx could be made to crash or run programs if it opened a specially
crafted file.

Software Description:
- libvpx: VP8 and VP9 video codec

Details:

It was discovered that libvpx did not properly handle certain malformed
media files. If an application using libvpx opened a specially crafted
file, a remote attacker could cause a denial of service, or possibly
execute arbitrary code.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 25.10
  libvpx9                         1.15.0-2.1ubuntu0.1

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
  libvpx9                         1.14.0-1ubuntu2.3

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS
  libvpx7                         1.11.0-2ubuntu2.5

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
