A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 24.10
- Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Summary:

openNDS could be made to crash or run programs if it received
specially crafted network traffic.

Software Description:
- opennds: manage access to public internet access

Details:

It was discovered that openNDS did not correctly handle certain memory
operations. An attacker could possibly use this issue to cause a denial of
service or execute arbitrary code.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 24.10
   opennds-daemon                  10.2.0+dfsg-1ubuntu0.24.10.1

Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
   opennds-daemon 10.2.0+dfsg-1ubuntu0.24.04.1~esm1
                                   Available with Ubuntu Pro

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
