A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:
- Ubuntu 22.04 ESM
- Ubuntu 20.04 ESM
- Ubuntu 18.04 ESM
- Ubuntu 16.04 ESM
- Ubuntu 14.04 ESM
Summary:
Exo could be made to crash or run programs if it opened a specially crafted
file.
Software Description:
- exo: Extension library used in the Xfce desktop
Details:
It was discovered that Exo did not properly sanitized desktop files.
A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to to cause a crash or
arbitrary code execution.
Update instructions:
The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:
