A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 20.10
- Ubuntu 20.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- Ubuntu 16.04 LTS

Summary:

Django could be made to overwrite files.

Software Description:
- python-django: High-level Python web development framework

Details:

Wang Baohua discovered that Django incorrectly extracted archive files. A
remote attacker could possibly use this issue to extract files outside of
their expected location.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 20.10:
  python3-django                  2:2.2.16-1ubuntu0.1

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS:
  python3-django                  2:2.2.12-1ubuntu0.3

Ubuntu 18.04 LTS:
  python-django                   1:1.11.11-1ubuntu1.10
  python3-django                  1:1.11.11-1ubuntu1.10

Ubuntu 16.04 LTS:
  python-django                   1.8.7-1ubuntu5.14
  python3-django                  1.8.7-1ubuntu5.14

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
