dbus vulnerability

A security issue affects these releases of Ubuntu and its derivatives:

- Ubuntu 13.04
- Ubuntu 12.10
- Ubuntu 12.04 LTS

DBus could be made to crash if it received specially crafted input.

Software Description:
- dbus: simple interprocess messaging system

Alexandru Cornea discovered that DBus incorrectly handled certain messages.
A local attacker could use this issue to cause system services to crash,
resulting in a denial of service.

Update instructions:

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 13.04:
  libdbus-1-3                     1.6.8-1ubuntu6.1

Ubuntu 12.10:

Ubuntu 12.04 LTS:
  libdbus-1-3                     1.4.18-1ubuntu1.4

After a standard system update you need to reboot your computer to make
