Most of those who use ubuntu that I know, have no idea how to use special characters (diacritics  )  and they use a standard  US english keyboard. And when they write română it come out romana, so is, in a way a familiar site. As a feedback, from the days without subtitles, I get personal messages from people that write and read on the romanian ubuntu forum. They find useful the screencasts especially when they  upgrade to Gutsy.
