Alan would know. When I created my screencast on skype (
http://screencasts.ubuntu.com/skype), I didn't do any of the encoding for
it. It was a combination of Archive.org, and Alan himself who also uploaded
it to Google Video.
I come from a podcasting background, where it is a good idea to push your
podcast/vodcast out in as many formats as possible to please everybody. Not
everyone wants to download a 720p vodcast, and not everyone wants 320x240
quality. Not everyone wants OGG, yet not everyone wants flash video or
xvid. I can safely assume that that is the goal here as well.
Just noticed that there were subtitles made for the skype screencast in
English and Romanian. Thanks to the person/people that wrote those :)
