Проблемы с DVD-RW

Господа, подскажите, что это может быть такое? 

Есть DVD-RW привод, который очень странно себя ведёт. Если включить комп с 
диском, вставленным в привод, то диск отображается как смонтированный на 
рабочем столе KDE, но при запуске k3b последний виснет минут на 5, затем 
запускается и выдаёт No media inserted. На нажатие кнопки Eject на приводе 
комп не реагирует, в списке смонтированных устройств привода тоже нет. Вот

Ещё подобное бывает при вставке пустого DVD диска в привод.

Что это и как лечить, кто подскажет?
