Concerning Layout,

Ubuntu lists 6 ur kdb layouts, see attached screenshot , or run (man
xkeyboard-config | grep -i urdu) in terminal.

Searching web, not all pages mentions same layout.

This on Wikipidia about Ubuntu Urdu localisation:
https://ur.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D9%85%D8%B9%D8%A7%D9%88%D9%86%D8%AA:Ubuntu_Linux_Localization#cite_note-2

Also this which have links at bottom linking to gnome, kde, x11
configuration
https://ur.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linux_Urdu_Keyboard

Could I ask kbd use status: which one used by government universities...?
So we carry on with most useful one.

Kind Regards,
Abdellah Ch.
