Here's a PPA build. https://launchpad.net/~dbungert/+livefs/ubuntu/mantic/test/+build/493233
No kernel in standard.squashfs, hwe in standard.live.
Distinct kernel artifacts outside the squashfses.

Anything else I can check ahead of time?  Dropping this into an ISO casper dir does work with what I presume to be the correct file renames.
