The reason I ran across this is because I was looking at my autopkgtest qemu images (which include images for stable releases) and noticed the old compat format. While we could update autopkgtest-buildvm-ubuntu-cloud to switch the compat level I think it would be of greater benefit to actually modify the cloud images to the newer compat level. So yes I would like to see this SRU'ed provided that works for the partners.
