Michael Hudson-Doyle has proposed merging ~mwhudson/livecd-rootfs/+git/livecd-rootfs:move-live-server-to-layers-3 into livecd-rootfs:ubuntu/master.

I've been meaning to do this for like three years and in the end I think it makes things quite a bit nicer (particularly around the modules stuff -- instead we just now have a layer that has the kernel installed and so all the modules it needs). I've tested this locally and the resulting image appears to work well.

The fix in lb_chroot_layered involved me learning some things!
